Les Bijoux de Babeth BONJOUR!

I am from the beautiful city of Lyon, France, a place known for its gastronomic traditions and local art.
When I was younger I wore a lot of black: I was anxious about colors and wanted to blend in. Today I am enamored with colors that “pop”, and enjoy working with melted glass enamels because it offers a large palette of deep vibrant colors.
Each piece starts with a clear idea in my head that I transpose on metal. I like to experiment with different shapes that I embellish with vivid colors of melted vitreous enamel. In my work I investigate different metalsmith techniques and enamel to create vibrant pieces of jewelry that reflect the exciting color in life. Often the piece speaks to me while I am working on it and guides me in a completely different direction. I love the unexpected in the creative process and the freedom to create unique pieces.
I want my work to be a special treat for the person who receives it. Each one is a unique gift, and I hope it brings as much joy as I had creating it.
